Goddess faire

The Sebastopol Goddess Faire was this weekend and I had a good friend visiting from Hawaii so she and I went together , there was a local music and dance troupe performing when we got there. I really like the first dance which was in honor of water and the ocean , by this silver haired goddess . my picture didn't turn out so great but you get the idea :)
There were beautiful altars set up all around.....the stone on her belly says "dream"
Then we came across KRISTA LYNN BROWN her work just drew us in....her paintings are really incredible..the way she layers the colors and shading. I person they are just luminous .
So I bought these two prints "Seed Moon Fipple Wind"
and "Green Witch "

She's having an open studio next week in Santa rosa and I'm really looking foward to going , I love looking at other artists studio spaces and all their stuff and collections of things.
So grateful for the Goddess Faire , it brings a really wonderful energy to this area for me, and a feeling of connection and affirmation to stay on the path of creativity and beauty ........

:: Blessed ::

A poem by Mary Oliver

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean-
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down-
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.
Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.
I don't know exactly what a prayer is.
I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down
into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,
which is what I have been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last, and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

: Leaves and samaras :

BELOVED, gaze in thine own heart,
The holy tree is growing there;
From joy the holy branches start,
And all the trembling flowers they bear.
The changing colours of its fruit
Have dowered the stars with metry light;
The surety of its hidden root
Has planted quiet in the night;
The shaking of its leafy head
Has given the waves their melody,
And made my lips and music wed,
Murmuring a wizard song for thee. ...............

. California November Fruits .

Some fruit photos I took this week on my ramblings around Sonoma County . These are some strange little oranges with really big thorns, a sort of Chinese variety mixed with something else, that is supposed to be somewhat hearty .
Pomegranates.....they're getting ripe and lovely as can be.
These are a large smooth Quince about the size of mangoes.
Red Hawthorne berries.
green/yellow Mexican hawthorn berries.
Olives ripening in the Sonoma County sun .

There is lots of other fruit still ripening like the grapes at a lot of the vineyards still, persimmons , apple trees full to the brim with fruit, and the pineapple guavas that are coming on now... that are sort of like a mix between a kiwi and a really tart apple.
